ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. Plants are found in the coastal mountains of Rio
de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Some writers indicate that distribution
extends into the state of Minas Gerais, but we found no habitat details.
Plants grow on rocks or trees in moderate shade. They are found in
mountain forests at 1300–3300 ft. (400–1000 m).
