Incoming seed is examined to determine embryo count to help decide how much seed should be sown, and/or which capsule would be the best to sow. Permanent sample slides are also prepared. Each separate package of seed is examined because these are generally from separate capsules, which is what we request from our donors.

Seed was received in an pre-opened envelope within another envelope. All visible seed was stuck to tape on the inner envelope.
Seed is yellow to the naked eye. Only a small quantity of seed was received. Medium sized seeds are long-rice shaped, straight, and have medium sized elongated yellow embryos centrally located which are 3/4 the length of the seed.
