Incoming seed is examined to determine embryo count to help decide how much seed should be sown, and/or which capsule would be the best to sow. Permanent sample slides are also prepared. Each separate package of seed is examined because these are generally from separate capsules, which is what we request from our donors.

TN2762
Number of capsules harvested:  6

Seed Assay Number:   1275
Packet Code Number:   1A01275BT
Harvest date:   10/04/2001
Received as:   Dry seed
Date Received:   10/11/2001
Number of Capsules Combined:   3
Comments:   Seed is golden brown to the naked eye, and very clumpy. Only a small quantity of seed was received. Moderately large seeds are long and thin, straight, and have medium sized pale elongated embryos centrally located which are 1/8 the length of the seed when present. A stray Coryanthes/Stanhopea seed can be seen in slide. If it was accidentally introduced in the slide-making process, it does not indicate that the seed used for sowing contained any.
Seeds that appeared to have
