Incoming seed is examined to determine embryo count to help decide how much seed should be sown, and/or which capsule would be the best to sow. Permanent sample slides are also prepared. Each separate package of seed is examined because these are generally from separate capsules, which is what we request from our donors.

Seed is light tan to the naked eye, and somewhat clumpy. Only a small quantity of seed was received. Moderately small seeds are long and thin, irregularly curved, and have moderately small sized elongated embryos centrally located which are 1/3 the length of the seed when present. |

Seed is pale tan to the naked eye, and somewhat clumpy. Only a small quantity of seed was received, so no sample was taken to conserve seed, but appears to be similar to that in assay 1118, though somewhat lighter. |
