ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. In Mexico, plants are found in the states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. Plants are found in tropical rainforest and mountain rainforest at 500-3100 ft. (150-950 m). In Belize, plants are rare, but they are occasionally found in the Cayo District, growing on trees in moist, broad-leaved forest at about 1950 ft. (600 m).
