ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Venezuela. In Venezuela, this epiphytic plant has been found in the Federal District at 4250-4900 ft. (1300-1500 m), at numerous locations in the state of Bolívar at 4600-6700 ft. (1400-2040 m), in the state of Carabobo with no details reported, in the state of Miranda at 1650-3300 ft. (500-1000 m), and in the state of Sucre at 2450-2800 ft. (750-850 m). Dunsterville & Garay (1959) reported plants were prolific along the Tiara road, growing fairly low and damp in tall forest. We were unable to find any details of the habitat in Colombia.
