Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plants: Temperature range CI (58-75°F)
 
Comments: Pod parent plant: From Caikiri, Colombia. This is a cultivar that I received from Will Chantry in the 1980s. Small plant.

Pollen parent plant: Magenta form. One of the finest forms of coccinea. Although the flower is small compared to red forms, it is quite flat. Small plant.

Temperatures we attempt to use in the lab & greenhouse:

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. This species is widely distributed in the Eastern Cordillera from near Ocaña in the Department of Norte de Sandander southward to near Santa Barbara in the Department of Cundinamarca. Plants grow at 8000-11,800 ft. (2440-3600 m) in forests, sometimes described as thin, and on roadside embankments.
