ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Venezuela. In Colombia, plants are found in
the Eastern Cordillera in the Departments of Norte de Santander, Santander
del Sur, and Boyacá. The habitat extends into the contiguous mountains of
western Venezuela. Plants grow on the trunks and branches of mossy trees
in damp, dim forests. They may be found at 4600-9200 ft. (1400-2800 m).
