ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. The habitat was apparently restricted to a small region in Pinchincha Province in the western foothills of the Andes. Plants were collected just south of the equator at the southern end of the Montañas de Ila where they grew as epiphytes in very wet cloudforest at about 1750 ft. (540 m).
