The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: The Himalayan Region in central and eastern Nepal at
6200-8000 ft. (1890-2440 m), in northeastern India in Sikkim and
Darjeeling to the Khasia Hills at 6100-7400 ft. (1850-2250 m), and in
Bhutan in the Sarbhang district and the Punakha district. In this region,
plants are found in areas that are characterized by the presence of fog
and mist at almost all times of the year. Although some writers indicate
that distribution extends eastward to Myanmar (Burma) Thailand, Laos,
Vietnam, and China, this range is not reflected by Seidenfaden (1992) or
other writers discussing orchids of the region.
