Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F)

Comments: Parent plant: This is a division of the only plant I have found of this species....(it was awarded with an HCC in 1997). It has a lovely soft mauve pink color and wonderful fragrance of vanilla. If anyone knows of another, I would like to see about swapping pollinia. It is an easy grower/spring bloomer. Medium-sized plant.

About the name...
Etymology of allemanii   Named for Francisco Freire Allemão Cisneros, Brazilian botanist of the 2nd half of the 20th century, who collected in northeast Brazil and was the director of the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro. (Source: Mayr & Schmucker 1998)
Etymology of Anacheilium   From latinized Greek "ana" upper side; "cheilos" lip. The lip is not resupinated, and is therefore on the upper side. (Source: Mayr & Schmucker 1998)
Pronunciation of Anacheilium   an-a-KYE-lee-um (Source: Hawkes 1978)
