Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range CI (58-75°F). Deciduous grower. Don't water until the new growths are putting out new roots. You will be surprised how large the roots are before the main growing kicks in. Then water heavily with feeding 1 in 3, and leaching 1 in 4. They have to do a lot of growing in such a short time. Flowers will be produced next to half-grown new growths. Keep water off of the leaves if possible. Feed high nitrogen N2 spring/summer then to high potassium K tomato for a couple of months in the autumn.
Comments: Parent plant: Large plant.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Venezuela. In Venezuela, plants have been
found near the city of Mérida at about 5250 ft. (1600 m), and Dunsterville
(1979) reported finding plants near the Colombian border in the state of
Táchira at about 6550 ft. (2000 m) growing as a terrestrial in an area
that had once been cloudforest before being cleared. Details of habitat
location and elevation in Colombia were not found, but Escobar (1990)
indicated this species grows in a cool climate at 5900-8200 ft. (1800-2500
m) in Colombia.
