The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico. Plants grow on the Pacific slopes in the states of
Oaxaca, Guerrero, Mexico, and Michoacan. Although most common near 3300
ft. (1000 m), they are reported from as high as 5600 ft. (1700 m) and as
low as 2300 ft. (700 m). B. uniflora grows on trees in oak, oak-pine, or
tropical deciduous forests.
Visitors to the habitat report that plants are normally found on twigs no
more than 0.5 in. (1.2 cm) in diameter and seem to revel in having moving
air around their roots. In addition, they are normally found along creeks,
even though water may be present only during the rainy season.
