An evergreen Dendrobium, this plant enjoys water year-round. Cut back some on water and fertilizer especially during the coldest times. I put it in the coolest part of the greenhouse (50-55°F) for several weeks to a month. The plant blooms in late spring - early summer. My plant produces 3 blooms/stem and the blooms are enormous. Five-inch blooms on most kinds of orchids are great but on a Dendrobium they're totally unexpected and absolutely gorgeous. I forgot to note the fragrance but it's there, which is another plus (in my book) for dendrobiums. Medium-sized plant. |
