Miniature. An epiphyte growing on scrub and oak trees, this has a range from Mexico through mid-Central America, growing at elevations of 1400-2400m. It will grow up to 8 inches in height overall. The flowers are about 1 inch across. |
Donor's culture notes: |
Temperature range W (70-90°F). I grow this encyclia species under hot to warm conditions although it is an intermediate to cool growing orchid in its native habitat; seems quite adaptable to temperature range. The plant is grown in bright light but not direct sun mounted bareroot on a small cork slab. It appreciates a slight drying during the winter months, but otherwise is undemanding of special conditions. |
