Tagged as Stanhopea candida, it certainly is not, but is presumably from Peru. Both Dr. Mark Whitten and Dr. Günter Gerlach identified this as Stanhopea anfracta. This is my smallest blooming Stanhopea with the smallest flowers as well, the labellum being only 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in its longest dimension. The flowers have a full, spicy scent, with perhaps a hint of lime. |
