My Retirement |

The time has come for me to retire from orchid flasking. The business has been languishing for a number of good reasons. It is difficult to grow orchids from seed and labor intensive. Good affordable labor has always been a challenge but is now more than ever. Another big factor is that early in 2024 I had open-heart surgery. I have fully recovered and am fortunate that my problem heart valve was replaced with one that works well. But the recovery process took time, and though I initially thought I could catch up, I now know it's impossible.
If you are a seed donor, let me know if you would like to have any remaining seeds returned to you.
A local high school science teacher is interested in taking the equipment and having me help develop a program that includes orchid culture. If this happens, the details, of which there are many, have yet to be worked out. They will be adopting any work already in progress, but until when/if there are finished flasks, please assume there are none.
