FAQ: How long does it take for seedlings to grow large enough to bloom?

Question:
How long does it take for seedlings to grow large enough to bloom?

Answer:
This varies a great deal depending the species and your growing conditions. Some are actually as short as one year, some (many more than the aforementioned) three years, some twenty years. A commonly quoted, perhaps over-quoted average is 6 years.
