ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. Details of habitat type, location and elevation
were not reported. However, the plants were imported as Masdevallia
curtipes, which is itself possibly a variant of M . infracta. Therefore,
we have assumed that M. discoidea is from essentially the same habitat,
which is in the moist forests of the mountains in the State of Rio de
Janeiro at 3000-4000 ft. (910-1220 m). Growers should be aware that the
following conditions, which are based on our assumptions, should be used
with extreme caution.
