ORIGIN/HABITAT: Northeast India into neighboring Burma (Myanmar). In
India, Papilionanthe vandarum, which is one of the coolest growing species
in the genus, grows in the subtropical zone at 3950-5600 ft. (1200-1700 m)
and is found in Sikkim, the Khasia Hills, and Manipur.
