Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Does well in intermediate to hot weather. Dies back in winter and comes back again with new growths the next year. Grows in regular soil. Needs cooler weather to flower.
 
Comments: Parent plant: Pretty dark purple frilly flower. Small plant.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: China, Japan, and Korea. This is a widespread species found in many provinces in China from Guangdong and Guangxi in the south northward to Korea and into Japan. Plants grow in rocky places on thinly bushed or grassy slopes at 3600-10,500 ft. (1100-3200 m).
