Comments: Parent plant: One of the offspring from our TN8127 effort of 2015, grown by Dr. Alfonso Miguel Doucette. The parent plant was purchased as Ophidion cunabulum and first shown here as Phloeophila cunabulum but later proved to be an as-yet undescribed species! The new name Ophidion alphonsianum has also been applied to it as a synonym.

Etymology of Phloeophila   From latinized Greek "phloios" bark; "philon" loving. The plants are epiphytic on the bark of trees. (Source: Mayr & Schmucker 1998)
