The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico. This epiphytic orchid is known from southwestern Mexico in the state of Guerrero where it has been found on oak trees near Omiltemi and somewhat southwest of Chilpancingo on oak trees at 5600 ft. (1700 m). Although reportedly occurring in Belize and Nicaragua, details of habitat location and elevation were not given for those regions.
