The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. Plants were first collected in the southern part
of the Western Cordillera in the Department of Cauca along the headwaters
of the Rio Naya. They were later found somewhat further north growing at
6550 ft. (2000 m) near Dovio in the Department of Valle del Cauca.
