The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Peru. Plants have been found in the department of Junín
near Chanchamayo where they were growing in wet forest at 4750 ft. (1450
m). This orchid was also reported as occurring in Bolivia by Dodson &
Vásquez (1982), but Bennett & Christenson (1998) were doubtful that the
plant discussed was actually Stanhopea deltoidea.
