ORIGIN/HABITAT: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. This orchid usually is found at 1650-4900 ft. (500-1500 m), normally growing in very damp, misty locations. It may also be found, however, in loosely wooded, quite dry areas, and Jenny (1993) remarks, "The species can be found in very heterogeneous habitats and is extremely adaptable."
