The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Peru. This orchid was discovered in the department of Loreto where it was growing in virgin swampy woods near Tocache Mission Post. Plants have also been collected near Tarapoto. Habitat elevation was not reported, so we have estimated the elevation as approximately that of the station elevation at Tarapoto. The resulting climate table and cultural suggestions should be used somewhat cautiously, however.
