ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico. This mostly terrestrial orchid is found in the states of Chiapas, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, San Luis Postosí, and Veracruz. The are found in open rocky areas in dry, often scrubby, oak or semideciduous forests at 350-4250 ft. (100-1300 m).
