ORIGIN/HABITAT: Widespread from the Philippines through Borneo, Sulawesi (formerly Celebes), the Moluccas, New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. Plants grow on trees, often near the sea in coastal forests, but they are also found in more inland, lowland forests. Plants are usually reported from near sea level, but they occur at elevations to about 1650 ft. (500 m).
