The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Ecuador. This species was originally found in
the Western Cordillera of southwest Colombia near Boqueron del Dagua at
about 3300 ft. (1000 m). Plants have since been found in northwest Ecuador
at 1950-4900 ft. (600-1500 m) on the western slopes of the Andes in Carchi
and Imbabura Provinces. Plants grow on both trees and rocks in sunny,
exposed locations in low, dry forests along rivers.
