The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Panama. The plant originally described as Lindsayella amabilis Ames & Schweinfurth was discovered in Chiriquí Province at about 2000 ft. (610 m). Plants were growing in crevices of rocks or more rarely on a very large dead tree. Plants have also been collected in Coclé Province and were cultivated in the Canal Zone Experiment Gardens, but details of habitat location and elevation were not reported.
