ORIGIN/HABITAT: Venezuela to northern Brazil. In Venezuela, plants have been collected in the state of Miranda in the north, in the Federal Territory of Amazonas in the southwest, and in the Gran Sabana region in the state of Bolívar in the southeast. Regrettably, details of precise habitat location and elevation were not given, so the following climate table and cultural suggestions are based on an estimated elevation and should be used with a great deal of caution until such time as the actual elevation is known.
