Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Plant has been in the garden, USDA Zone 8, for about 6 years. Flowers profusely! Plant has survived and flowered after lows in the teens. Experienced 22°F with some foliage damage. The plant is in full shade on the north side of our house. It is irrigated every day, and has excellent drainage. It flowers for a month.
Comments: I did not try to pollinate this plant. There were in excess of 30 flowers on the plant and these were the only capsules that set. There are no other Calanthe in flower at this time so I am sure it is a spontaneous selfing.
Parent plant: Large plant.
