The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Ecuador. This terrestrial orchid is found on steep slopes
in wet montane cloudforest the western Andes. Plants have been for in
Bolivar Province above Balzapamba at 4250 ft. (1300 m) and in Pichincha
Province between Quito and Santo Domingo at 5600 ft. (1700 m).
