Culture Notes from Donor: Pod parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F)
 
Comments: Sib-cross of the new rupicolous Laelia species! Described by Francisco Miranda in June 2005 Orchids magazine. Parent plants from same trip. Plants about 4-5" tall; flowers 1-3/8". Taxonomically this species will correctly be Hoffmannseggella kleberi.

Pod parent plant: Small plant.

Temperatures we attempt to use in the lab & greenhouse:
For Species:   Spring, Summer, Autumn: days average 79°F, nights 64°F; best fit is Intermediate 83-60°F (Source: Baker's Web OSC)
For Species:   Winter: days average 73°F, nights 55°F; best fit is Cool 70-52°F (Source: Baker's Web OSC)

Yield Estimate: 1290 plants (based on flask surveys done 03/02/2007 through 03/13/2008)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 20 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 05/11/2007 through 09/09/2008)

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.
This text is copyrighted by the Bakers and may not be reproduced without permission.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Brazil. This rupiculous orchid was discovered in the state of Minas Gerais near Presidente Kubitschek, which is near Diamantina, at 3600 ft. (1100 m). Plants grow fully exposed on large rocks with their roots extended into cracks that are at least partially filled with plant debris and other detritus.
