The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. In Ecuador, plants have
been found in the provinces of Napo, Morona-Santiago, and Tungurahua where
they grow in wet upper montane forests with collections reported from
2600-9200 ft. (800-2800 m), but mostly from 5900 ft. (1800 m) or higher.
In Venezuela, plants have been found in the states of Mérida and Tachira
at 5750-8650 ft. (1750-2630 m). We have been unable to find details of
habitat location or elevation in Colombia.
