Flasks of
Zygopetalum mackayi 'Pacific Spirit' × self

Number: TN4513
Name: Zygopetalum mackayi 'Pacific Spirit' × self
From Troy Meyers: Plants of the species Zygopetalum intermedium are frequently mislabeled Z. mackayi, and Z. mackayi itself is quite rare. The flowers are similar, but careful examination is required to determine which species a plant is. We've posted this as Z. mackayi because the donor knows all this and is still confident that that is a correct ID. If we can, we will follow up with a confirmation of the plant's identity.

Type: self    (What's that?)
Seed Donor: Gideon Singer  (Email: gideon.singer@gmail.com)

Pod Parent Flowers

Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F). It is grown the same way as any other Zygopetalum.

Comments: Parent plant: As far as I know this is a true Zygopetalum mackayi. It came from a long time grower and the flowers are different from a Z. intermedium which I also have. Large plant.

Flask Information
Availability: We have sold all of the flasks for this item.
You should: Consider getting individual plants or compots instead of a flask.
You can place a "Notify Flask Recipients" Request, and either we or a flask recipient may contact you when plants are available.

You may also place a "Notify Retries" Request, and if an identical pollination (the same parents) is done again, we'll let you know.

You may reserve a flask, but it's very unlikely you'll get one ...this could only happen if we found a flask that we didn't know we had.
Yield Estimate: 590 plants (based on flask surveys done 01/04/2005 through 02/28/2008)
Yield estimates are only approximate, but may appear to be fairly exact numbers because they are a combination of large rough estimates in remaining mother flasks and more accurate small estimates in reflasks.
Plantlet Sizes: From many flasks 1 - 80 mm plants (based on flask surveys done 10/29/2004 through 05/28/2008)
From one most recently surveyed flask 35 - 80 mm (05/28/2008)
