ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia and Ecuador. This epiphytic to terrestrial
species is widely distributed through all three cordilleras in Colombia to
southeastern Ecuador. Plants are found at 5600-7850 ft. (1700-2400 m).
They usually occur in wet forests as epiphytes but grow equally well as
terrestrials on shaded roadside embankments.
