ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. Found in the Western Cordillera in the Departments of Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, and Chocó. In Valle del Cauca, plants grow on the western slopes near Cali usually at about 6550 ft. (2000 m), but they are sometimes found as low as 4900 ft. (1500 m) and as high as 7200 ft. (2200 m).
