ORIGIN/HABITAT: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. This orchid has been collected a various locations across mainland Thailand at 1150-3950 ft. (350-1200 m). Plants usually grow in deciduous forests where the dry season is relatively long. They are widely distributed in the mountain areas of northern, northeastern, western, and southwestern Thailand, but they are also found at low elevations in the Prachuab area in southwestern Thailand. In the city of Chiengmai, plants grow on teak trees lining the streets. In Vietnam, plants have been collected in the mountains near Dalat. The type specimen for Vanda pseudocoerulescens was collected near Kampot in southern Cambodia.
