The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. This orchid was originally found in Costa Rica where it is widespread on the Atlantic slope. Plants are found on the Pacific slopes on both sides of the Panama-Costa Rica border where they grow at mostly at 1650-3300 ft. (500-1000 m). Plants have been collected from as high as 5400 ft. (1650 m), however. In Panama, plants have been found in the provinces of Chiriquí, Coclé, and Panama. Details of the habitat in Colombia were not given.
