Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range I (60-83°F). Best on coarse tree fern mount. Roots must dry after watering.
 
Comments: Parent plant: As a specimen will flower in profusion. Long lasting, branching inflorescences.

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Mexico. Plants grow on trees and rocks in the mountains of central Oaxaca east of the city of Oaxaca at 5250-5600 ft. (1600-1700 m). They are sometimes found as low as 4600 ft. (1400 m) and as high as 6550 ft. (2000 m). The type specimen for the plant described as Barkeria halbingeri Thien was collected near the town of Mitla, which is about 20 mi. (32 km) southeast of the city of Oaxaca.
