Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Intermediate/warm temperatures and humid conditions. The plant summered on my patio in moderate light with temperatures from 65 to 100 °F.
 
Comments: Parent plant: The flowers were a brilliant green with large white fringed lip. Very unusual.

About the name...
Etymology of christensonia   Named for Eric A. Christenson. American botanist, researches primarily the orchids of Southeast Asia. This orchid genus from Vietnam has therefore been dedicated to him, second half of the twentieth century. (Source: Mayr & Schmucker 1998)

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Vietnam. This orchid was discovered about 25 mi. (40 km) northwest of Phan Rang near the village of Ninh Tay in Khanh Hoa Province. The plants were growing beside a small stream in a humid, semideciduous forest at about 350 ft. (100 m).
