The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Tanzania (Tanganyika) in tropical east Africa. Plants may grow on rocks or the surface of the ground and have been found in grassland in the Korogwe-Handeni region. They are also reported from the Usagara Mountains at 1500 ft. (460 m), usually about 100 mi. (161 km) inland. Pridgeon (1992) reported that this orchid grows on cliffs and sloping rock faces in warm, humid locations.
