The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Western Mexico in the states of Guerrero, Jalisco, Mexico,
Michoacán, Nayarit, and Sinaloa. Plants grow in rather dry, oak or
pine-oak forests at 3300-6600 ft. (1000-2000 m).
