Culture Notes from Donor: Parent plant: Temperature range CI (58-75°F)

Comments: Parent plant: John and Ginger Plov purchased Epigeneium nakaharai from Greg Warner of Nehalem Valley Orchids (Vernonia, OR) c. 1980. Shortly after the Plovs took their Epigeneium home, they noticed a tiny volunteer seedling growing among the roots. They left the volunteer on the Epigeneium for a few years until it was able to be manipulated and then removed it and mounted it separately. It turned out to be this Pholidota cantonensis. I'm certain Greg Warner purchased the Epigeneium from Chow Cheng as he had a tremendous number of Taiwanese species at the time and Chow Cheng was the major exporter of Taiwanese species then.
