The origin/habitat information below is supplied courtesy of Charles and Margaret Baker

The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Colombia. In the Department of Antioquia, plants are found in the northern end of the Central Cordillera of the Andes. Plants grow on trees at forest edges in lower cloudforests at 5900–7550 ft. (1800–2300 m). Some writers include Ecuador and Peru in the range of distribution for this species, but this is may be the result of treating Odontoglossum wyattianum as a synonym or variety of Odontoglossum harryanum. Bockemühl (1989) indicates that Odontoglossum harryanum is found only in Colombia and Odontoglossum wyattianum is found in Ecuador and Peru.
