The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Madagascar. This orchid is found in the damp tropical
forests all along the east coast of the island. Plants grow mostly on
trees but may occasionally be found on rocks and is found most often in
the hot, wet lowlands, but has been found growing as high as 1300 ft. (400
m). It is a sun-loving plant that is never found growing in deep shade.
