Incoming seed is examined to determine embryo count to help decide how much seed should be sown, and/or which capsule would be the best to sow. Permanent sample slides are also prepared. Each separate package of seed is examined because these are generally from separate capsules, which is what we request from our donors.

Comments:
Seed is dark brown to the naked eye, and coarse and flaky. Only a small quantity of seed was received. Large seeds are flattened and stacked, and have moderately large sized flattened teardrop-shaped embryos which are 1/8 the length of the seed. The unusual, dense, cornflake-like seeds might be attributed to this species' relation to Vanilla. Photo shows a stack of adhering seeds.
