The following information is based on the name of the plant provided by the donor, and assumes that the name is correct. If the plant has been misidentified, then the following information may not be correct.

ORIGIN/HABITAT: Western Mexico. C. pendula grows on trees in oak or
pine-oak forests in the Pacific coastal mountains bordering the Balsas
Basin. Plants are also found near Morelia and Talpa in Michoacan and
Jalisco, usually at 4600-7200 (1400-2200 m). They are also reported in the
states of Sinaloa and Guerrero, with questioned reports from the states of
Mexico, Oaxaca, and Chipas.
